El Pinto was established in 1962. Our restaurant is located in Albuquerque's beautiful North Valley. For nearly 50 years, El Pinto has been serving traditional New Mexican recipes from our grandmother Josephina Chavez-Griggs. We are still the place for friends and families to gather, eat, and enjoy the enchantment that New Mexico has to offer. Come see why we're Albuquerque's favorite New Mexican restaurant!
Please come sit on one of our beautiful patios or in one of our comfortable dining rooms, eat some of our award-winning food and sip a margarita, or simply order our New Mexican salsa which is the flavor of New Mexico.
It is green chile and soon red chile season in New Mexico. Last weekend we headed to Hatch, NM, the undisputed "Chile Capital of the World", to inspect the El Pinto red chile fields. We have been hearing for awhile now about the difficult season Hatch is having due to early wind and lack of water, so we were interested to see what we would find. Our partner, Pete, who is growing for us has assured us numerous times our crop is beyond good, it is the best he has ever seen. We wanted to see for ourselves and share our findings with you. We are freeling giving away our secret to how El Pinto grows the best chile in the world to make our best tasting salsas, green chile sauces, and red chile sauces. As Jim Thomas says, "It is good for everyone," when people all over see how we are using organic methods to grow fantastic chile even when the weather conditions are less than ideal. Enjoy, and keep spreading chile love!
I was wondering if your restaurant made natural salsa? I have been looking for a restaurant that serves it. I have yet to find one in my area. Thanks for your time.

This is the type of "American Dream" story that we all love to hear about. This is what many in America want to say about their estabilishments "We started as a one room restaurant that was a special place for families and friends to gather and have an excellent meal. Forty seven years later we have expanded into the largest restaurant in the state of New Mexico." Congratulations.
