Visit us at our World Famous New Mexican Restaurant in Albuquerque's beautiful North Valley. El Pinto was established in 1962 and has been featuring traditional New Mexican recipes from our grandmother Josephina Chavez-Griggs ever since.

We started as a one room restaurant that was a special place for families and friends to gather and have an excellent meal. Forty seven years later we have expanded into the largest restaurant in the state of New Mexico. We are still the place for friends and families to gather, eat, and enjoy the enchantment that New Mexico has to offer.

Sit on one of our beautiful patios or in one of ourcomfortable dining rooms, eat some of our award-winning food, and sip a margarita at El Pinto, the flavor of New Mexico.
We started El Pinto Foods as a response to the demand from our customers that we bottle our salsa. We started the company in 2000 with a 35 gallon kettle in the kitchen of the restaurant. We now have our own 8,000 square foot manufacturing plant that is on the same property as the restaurant.

We use 120 tons of chile per year making our salsas and sauces. We can produce 4,000 cases per day and have the capacity to make five million jars a year. We started out making our original salsa and green chile sauce. We now have twelve products in our conventional line and six products in our organic line.
